AP Board

The Directorate of Government Examinations or the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is the main education Board in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (BSEAP), which is also known as the AP SSC Board conducts the Class 10 board exams in the state. And the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) conducts the Andhra Intermediate or Class 12 exams. In addition to this, the AP Board is also responsible for prescribing the syllabus, curriculum and textbooks for Class 1 to Class 12 students in the state. Another important function of the AP Board is to evaluate the Class 10 and Class 12 Board exam and announce the results.

Latest Notification

• The BIEAP announced the results for AP Intermediate 1st and 2nd year on 26th April 2023. Students can check their results on the Board’s official site.
• The BSEAP will announce the results of the AP SSC (Class 10) exams in the month of May 2023. Students can check their results on the Board’s official site.
• The Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (BSEAP) has announced the dates for the SSC or Class 10 Board examination. The exams are scheduled to start from 3rd April 2023 and continue till 18th April 2023. Check the AP SSC Date sheet for more details about the exam timings and dates.
• The AP SSC Board has announced that the Class 10 board exams will be conducted for 11 papers.
• The AP Board has released the hall ticket for the 2023 SSC board exam. Go to the official website, bse.ap.gov.in, to download the hall ticket.
• The BIEAP has announced that the AP Intermediate 2nd Year exams or the Class 12 exams will be held from 16th March 2023 to 4th April 2023. Check the AP Board Intermediate 2nd Year Time Table for more details about the exam timings and dates. 

About AP Board: BSEAP & BIEAP

BSEAP: AP SSC Board

The Board of Secondary Education Andhra Pradesh, which is also known as the Directorate of Government Examinations, was set up in the year 1953. The autonomous department carries out its duties from its head office located in Vijayawada and other regional offices in the state.

The board oversees secondary education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The BSEAP conducts the AP SSC or Class 10 board exams in affiliated schools in the state. Additionally, the Board is also responsible for prescribing the syllabus, devising rules and regulations, courses of study, conducting exams and providing directions and support. 

BIEAP: Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education

The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education, or BIEAP, was established in 1971 and functions under the AP Board. It is mainly responsible for conducting the exams for Class 11 and Class 12, which are also called Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2. The board also executes and governs various activities, including setting the syllabus, curriculum, granting affiliations and making regulations for affiliated institutions. The BIEAP offers a total of 85 streams/courses for students, including Vocational Stream Groups and General Stream Groups. This includes Humanities, Commerce, Science etc.

Some of the chief functions of the AP Board (Andhra Pradesh Education Board) are:

• To enforce the rules and regulations set by the AP Board (BSEAP and BIEAP) in affiliated schools.

• Devising courses of study
• Conducting SSC (Class 10) and Intermediate 2 (Class 12) Board examinations

This year, 6,09,081 students appeared for the board exam. In 2022, 615908 students appeared for the AP SSC (Class 10) board exam, and 414285 of them passed the exam.
